Damper Control Pump.

The Experimental Department have asked for a larger pressure release valve on the pump of the damper control unit and we accordingly send N. Sch. 3969 which shows a valve with a .250" diameter ball instead of the present ball of .187" diameter.

The release pressure is to be raised to 45 lbs.sq.in. and the spring we show provides for this.

We also show inlet and outlet valves of increased size, as although there has been no complaint about the present valves they appear somewhat on the small side in view of the increased pump bore that is now used.

Slight pattern alterations are needed, one of which is the dropping of the bottom facing of the casing by .050 to enable the washers for the bottom plugs to be spigotted on the plugs.

We suggest that the bottom wall of the casing should be .150 thickness as for the sides except where bosses are needed for fittings and for jigging purposes instead of being thick all over as it is now.
