If a point of contraflexure should be required at some point in the characteristic, this might be obtained and its location adjusted by change of the initial position of the ring.

It will be noted that the possible combinations of the 3 variables are so complex that we do not believe it advisable to obtain any results by the "cut-and-try" method, nor do we believe it advisable at this time to attempt anything along the lines of standardization of any of the variable elements except the initial angle as above mentioned.
