Major G.F. Boyle.

The following is an extract from a letter received to-day from P.N., for your information.

"On the question of steering, I took a run when at Cannes, on Capt. Boyle's new PhantomCodename for PHANTOM I. I have no serious criticism other than the steering, which punished one's arms terribly. Doubtless I may have felt this more after driving with the modified steering only for some two months and all the time in France; but I cannot speak too strongly about the contingent harm to R.R. reputation by having to allow cars thus equipped to be on the road. Of course an owner may get used to it and may not realise what he is putting up with until he happened to steer a Bentley; then he would at once.

The point was not referred to by Major Boyle. I understand that Derby is having some difficulty over this modification".

Has Major Boyle complained?

BJ.
