X/40 500. Mr Haden. 28.2.13 REPORT ON METHOD OF REMOVING REAR AXLE TUBE NUT. With reference to sheet dated 29.1.13 from Drawing Office re above, we have now tried this on one of the Experimental Cars and same worked quite satisfactory. The great advantage over present method being that there is no chance of getting the spanner on until the locking screw is taken out, which has so far been very common. The only apparent disadvantage to this method is that when changing over wheels the nut may be tightened too much to make it come to the screw hole. *I think this should be considered with a view to standardising.
