With reference to the above which has recently been put on Production Cars. The principle of the Air Vent is exactly the same as the one fitted to the car G.W.H. had in France which proved satisfactory, the only difference being that the Production vent has a plated elbow fitted to the Petrol Filler: into this is screwed a union, fitted to which is a flexible rubber tube. From this the small copper tubing runs away under the body and is fastened to some convenient spot. The one that did 10,000 miles was simply the copper tube sweated into the filler and running direct to the rear of the body. The rubber connection now fitted takes all the vibrations, and should prove more satisfactory than the scheme tried out in France. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/J.Bowering. | ||
