Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer}'s memo EP{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer}19/H.13-8-30 ; it would appear from the description given by Mr.Corn of the Cigar Lighter trouble that this accessory was connected to the Switchbox on No.6 Terminal which is the main battery positive, and which is only protected by the main fuse (90 amps) We would refer all concerned to our paragraph in the 20/25 H.P. Instruction Book, Chapter III, Page 61, in which we definitely say as follows :- "The only point at which any new apparatus should be connected is No.7 Terminal either that in the Switchbox or in the Distribution Box, whichever may be more convenient. When connecting at either of these points the added apparatus and wires are protected by No.6 Fuse." We would point out that No.7 Terminal in the Switchbox is provided with a Screw and Lock Washer and is left vacant by us for the use of Coachbuilders and their additional accessories, and we can only say that if this Cigar Lighter had been connected up correctly, as recommended, the trouble would not have occurred. We suggest that when the car is returned to the Works this connection should be corrected. BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} | ||
