contd :- -4- .250 BORE .250" We have just conducted a rough test to confirm that the oil can be replaced in the cyl. more rapidly than it can be lost through the air release. Placing a cork and glass tube in the top of a damper properly filled as indicated, the level moved not at all during the high pressure stroke and fell at a maximum .250 ins. at the commencement of the low pressure stroke possibly due to a very small quantity of air in the system, actual variation in volume .2 cc. Therefore the damper upon which your test was made must have been suffering from some original sort of disease. (Ball valves screwed on to seat permanently?) We are therefore more than ever mystified at your trouble. HS{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} | ||
