Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} c. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} X4554 BY/Cgh{W Clough}4/G.24.5.29. ADDITIONAL CHASSIS PARTS IN ABEYANCE. With reference to Wd{Mr Wood/Mr Whitehead}9/AD.7.5.29. copy of which is attached to Hy{Tom Haldenby - Plant Engineer}1/H17.5.29., since the Works have used or kept in stock any parts which could be used on production or repairs, there is no reason why the remainder of the material which is special and peculiar to the Sports type Continental Chassis should not be scrapped immediately, since there is now no reason to build any more Continental Phantom chassis for Indian clients in view of the forthcoming SS.{S. Smith} chassis. The suggestions made by Sales in their memo of the 30th ult. have already been carried out by Wd.{Mr Wood/Mr Whitehead}, and we shall only be scrapping those parts which are special and suitable for the Continental type chassis.
