As a result of discussing the finish of the crankshafts with the Works from the point of view of reducing cost and removing unnecessary operations, I have agreed tentatively that the sides of the webs should be left with a turned finish, and have arranged with Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} that the engine which is just going on for test should be fitted with one of the cranks in question. RHC{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer}/SB.{Mr Bull/Mr Bannister} is finishing off a crank on the new footing, and this will be supplied in the course of a day or so. It should be fitted in the engine which is being built for endurance testing for certain other parts. BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} Handwritten initials: BM | ||
