W. R: 238A-100 T. (B C). 648. 10-2-20 G 5618 Wdll/NJ21.5.20. 21st. May, 1920. Messrs. Lucas Electrical Co. Ltd. Well Street, BIRMINGHAM. Dear Sirs, X.4060. Electrical Equipment of 40/50 H.P. Chassis.X.3014 ------------------------------------------ We were very pleased to have the visit of your Mr. Breeden yesterday and hope that our discussion has resulted in our both understanding the position. We wish to put on record that Mr. Breeden informed us that you are prepared to manufacture for us a special dynamo, of the concentric type, similar to a sample you have submitted to us and which is now under test, but with certain special adjustments and fittings, such as die cast, brush fittings, with the object of rendering the dynamo noiseless both mechanically and electrically, that you are preapred to guarantee that thedynamo shall satisfy our requirement, both as regards efficiency and silence; that the cost will be round about 15/- more than the price of the standard dynamo you are supplying to us at present and that, provided we place an order with you for not less than 1,000 of this new type of dynamo, you will proceed to make jigs and tools for the production of same and estimate that you would be able to commence delivery about three months after receipt of our order. We informed Mr. Breeden that his proposals would be discussed and an answer given at as early a date as possible. At the same time, we pointed out to Mr. Breeden that as a period of three months is required for the production of the new type of dynamo, we should in all probility require some dynamos of the type you are now supplying to us beyond the 1,000 on order, and as we do not wish at the present time Contd. | ||
