XU553a Mr. G.W.Hancock, c/o Hotel de France, Chateauroux, Indre. FRANCE. To Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/GWH.{George W. Hancock - Head Chateauroux} from Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}3/KT.4.4.33. Many thanks for your report of 2.4.33. Strangely enough we had a letter from Skinner the same morning warning us that the fibre blocks were likely to break and we attach a copy. As soon as we send you a replacement, will you please send us those which have failed back. We note your figures re. oil consumption which are very interesting. We found here that unless we are very careful to take the breather pipe from the crankcase, we get a large quantity of oil consumed by the carburetter, in fact on the Phantom we find that the existing arrangement of the breather increases the oil consumption by-200 m.p.g. 18.G.IV. is now nearly completed.
