(5) 3-layer Vandervell big-end bearings if proved to be satisfactory. (6) Should also have the lightest possible exhaust system, the Burgess if this can be made to give the necessary degree of silence. The main features required to be fitted to it are:- (1) A properly designed cheap and light front and rear engine mounting. (2) Cheapest and lightest exhaust system we can produce. (3) Mechanical petrol pump. (4) Latest spring drive parts with the necessary wheelcase casting. (5) Two S.U. Carburetters. (6) The correct camshaft for idling. (7) The electric oil gauge. (8) A satisfactory engine breathing system. (9) A reliable water pump bearing. (10) The best compromise for body mounting evolved by Caswell. (11) A cheap Lucas dynamo and starter motor to be available. (12) A correct wiring scheme with the R.R. distributor. Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} | ||
