Re: WHEELS & TYRES - AMERICAN CONTRACT.

I raised this point in Derby yesterday and I found Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} was fully alive to the position.

They have obtained at W. a set of heavier 19" x 7" tyres which they propose to try on 25-EX. The other ones gave trouble in connection with the steering, and if the heavier ones are O.K. in this direction then there is no difficulty in complying with the contract requirement.

But if they are not satisfactory I told Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} that I thought a set of 19" x 7" wheels and tyres ought to be shipped out separately so that he could demonstrate on 25-EX, when then why they were unsatisfactory.

Please keep these papers alive until a settlement has been arrived at in regard to this matter.

In regard to the bumper test for frames, referred to in Sg{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}10/E9.7.30 attached, they are going to do this on 24-EX. as soon as it comes back.

They have little doubt that the frames will pass the test, but as you will be back from your holiday earlier than I shall, will you please follow this matter up immediately on your return as by that date the test should have been made and the results known.
