Bentley III - Specification.

The specification for Bentley III chassis given in E/Lid.{A. J. Lidsey}1/HP.9.4.37 was discussed at the Interim chassis conference in Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}' room on 13.4.37, and agreed upon with the following modifications.

Steering Column and Box.

The present Bentley type of controls and spring spoke steering wheel are to be retained on Bentley III chassis. It will be necessary, therefore, to adapt these to the Wraith column.

Instrument Board.

Sales are to say whether it is still considered necessary to supply a revolution counter with the Bentley chassis. Improved illumination of the instruments is required.
It is desirable from a production point of view to use the Phantom III, and 25/30 HP. switch box in the existing Bentley patch. There appears to be no reason why this cannot be introduced prior to Bentley III.
