(5) continued

A new camshaft will also be required with a .400" lift and this could be made from a J.1. lift curve, if possible with serrations as called for in section (1).

(6) Wraith Bottom Tappets.

If possible, a set of Wraith type bottom tappets should be fitted, and tried out to see their effect on bounce speed. As this type is being used on the main engine, Jnr.{Charles L. Jenner} will be able to supply details.

(7) Inserted valve seats

As exhaust valves show a tendency to pull in the block we should like to try some inserted seats in High Speed steel, and Duracrome, to be fitted to the 1.500" dia. valve block, and in the new main engine block above (section 5.)

(8) Inlet valve lift

In order to reduce inlet bottom tappet loading we should like to try a reduced valve lift, and would like modified rockers to give .350" lift and if possible .300"

(9) Cylinder heads

As remarked before, we are anxious to try a head of the main engine type, and as soon as this is sufficiently far advanced, we should like a single cylinder unit rushed through.
