PHOENIX COMBUSTION CHAMBER.

We send you herewith a sketch showing various modifications to the single cylinder high power head, LeC.5368, necessary to adopt it to the O.H.I. Phoenix, and we should be glad if you would have one head made as soon as possible, as it is urgently required.

The main points are:-

(1) Valve inclination considerably reduced, making necessary

(a) shorter rocker, and moving rocker centre towards exhaust side of engine.

(b) push rod inclination decreased.

(c) modification to cores for inlet ports and rocker box.

(2) Plug inclined approximately as shown, and exhaust plug omitted.

(3) The throat area to be kept approximately the same as before, and not in any case to be less than 1.50.sq.in.

(4) C.R. to be adjusted to give 6.4 with a .062" C. & A.{Mr Adams} gasket.

It is recommended also, that along with the new head, a complete set of details, such as studs, etc. be put through to save the trouble and time waste of changing these over every time we want to check back on another head.
