X7600 DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} c. HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} G.{Mr Griffiths - Chief Accountant / Mr Gnapp} BY/RD. BY12/G.18.2.29. SIDE SPARE WHEEL CARRIERS. ----------------------- We started out to scheme this proposal ourselves but we have had to drop it due to pressure of detail work, and would therefore suggest that you should let us have an N. scheme covering this proposal. We think the matter is urgent, as it appears to us that you will probably wish to modify the new scheme for carrying the engine, as apparently the steel pieces securing the rubber may have to be extended to cover an inside area which will enable the spare wheel carrier brackets outside to fall within the stiffened area provided by these pieces. Similarly we think the 20 HP. side spare wheel carrier would justify re-designing. We have never liked the old scheme. We are still occasionally in trouble with it, and we think a double arm bracket of the SS.{S. Smith} type is equally necessary on the 20 HP. as on the SS.{S. Smith} In both cases of course we wish to use all the loose parts securing the wheel at the rear when carrying the wheel on the side. BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} BY | ||
