P.100 HEADLAMPS.

We consider that in view of the repeated failure of these lamps, more particularly on Bentley chassis, it should be arranged that Kingsbury changeover every car that they deal with by fitting headlamps incorporating the new dipper bracket modified internal wiring, and stronger tripod connector plunger.

If they had a supply of three or four pairs of modified lamps initially the lamps removed could be returned to Messrs.Lucas for modification and used up again later on other cars.

Otherwise we feel sure that all the cars fitted with unmodified lamps will give trouble and as this trouble too often takes the form of a complete blackout it may have serious consequences.

If either the feed wire breaks or the dipper unit fractures a short circuit occurs which will cause black-out.

We are visiting Messrs.Lucas works regarding headlamps failures and will mention the question of this changeover with their lamp designer.
