(handwritten) Herewith we send N. sch. 3271. shewing a proposed method of temporarily fitting a brake to the sun. It will be seen that we have done several things which would not be permissible on a production job but which we think will be suitable for this test. We have tried to make as few/new pieces, and alterations to existing pieces, as possible but it seems desirable to make some. We think this brake may prove to be a considerable improvement in handling the box and will enable the timing of the 3rd. speed change to be much less exacting than now.
