Dynamo Brushes.
I confirm my Wd {Mr Wood / Mr Whitehead} 17/NJ30.7.24; this morning we are in receipt of a further letter from Messrs. Le Carbone on the question of the polishing of the carbon brushes, as samples submitted to you.
They find that this work is rather difficult and state that they would be obliged to increase the price of the brushes by 2½d. {John DeLooze - Company Secretary} each on account of the extra cost entailed. Furthermore, the polishing adds to the difficulties of calibration, and if this scheme should be adopted they would have to ask us to allow approximately 4 mills extra tolerance.
Will you kindly keep these remarks before you when considering the question of adopting carbons with certain parts polished.
Wd. {Mr Wood / Mr Whitehead}
