X1263 Exptl. Dept. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/JBD.{John B. Dixon - Fuel Systems}17/JH. 15th October, 1936. The S.U. Company Ltd., East Works, Adderley Park, Birmingham, 8. For the attention of Mr. Skinner. Dear Sirs, We thank you for the drawings showing the proposed modification to the armature spindle. We agree to this provided that in production we are able to maintain the spindle at right angles to the armature as you will rely upon the accuracy of the threads for this there being very little shoulder to screw up against. We wish to make an analysis of the causes of the trouble on all the pumps returned to you for repair over a period of a month. We have arranged that every pump shall be labelled giving the chassis number and reason for return. In order to get the evidence first hand I want to be present when the pumps are stripped down and would be glad if you would suggest how this could be arranged with the least delay and inconvenience. Could you arrange that these pumps are examined in batches say one or twice a week when I could be notified and would be present? We hope to be able to despatch the magnet pots for the high bift pump tomorrow. Yours faithfully, | ||
