-2- Contd. of sufficient quantity to enable that wire to give a spark at its plug. It appears, however, that we do still occasionally get such an effect even when the two groups of wires are in separate all-insulating material tubes, and it is still necessary to use a metallic tube through which these wires pass, and one which could be earthed. Although we have an all-insulating tuve on the 20 H.P. we do not appear to get this phenomenon on that chassis, presumably owing to the fact that the length of wires in juxta-position is considerably smaller. Our suggestion for the SS.{S. Smith} engine is, therefore, that we use bakelite covered metal tubes, the metal portion of which can be efficiently earthed. EFC. | ||
