Two forms of Insulation have to be tested, I Sheet, II Block. I) Sheet includes, Paper, fabrics (treated or untreated) mica and micanite, varnishes & asbestos. A general test can be specified for these, viz:- Breakdown voltage. Place a sample between plane electrodes, connected to testing transformer, and gradually raise voltage until breakdown. Note this pressure. Observe thickness of sample with micrometer and tabulate "Breakdown volts per mil." (cont'd) Signed This Sheet must be filed on completion of the work. | ||
