contd :- -2- permanently silencing these 20 HP. rear dampers as yet. We do feel that either the drilled valve (to the minimum extent) or dynamic restrictions help us with silence because both enable a high maximum load to be obtained without the sharp peak when the direction of the load is being changed. It is the sudden reversal of load which causes the knock. STANDARD DAMPER HIGH LOADS AT THE POINT OF LOAD REVERSAL. SLOTTED VALVE PEAK LOAD DELAYED. DYNAMIC RESTRICTIONS - PEAK LOAD CENTRE OF STROKE.
