LIST No. 398B. S.B.A.C THE SOCIETY OF BRITISH AIRCRAFT CONSTRUCTORS AMAL Aircraft Thermometer (Oil) Pocket. Type 184 in two models :— ELBOW Type as illustrated. UNIVERSAL TYPE where the piece 'C' is similar to 'A'. Each in seven sizes. "A"—BODYCASTING oil inlet union. "B"—SLEEVE into which the thermometer is fitted "C"—UNION BODY oil outlet union. DISMANTLED ASSEMBLED Statement It has been found in long practice, that Thermometer Pockets hitherto fitted to show the oil temperatures have proved unreliable owing to stratification being set up in the oil stream and giving untrue readings on the thermometer. Purpose The Pockets illustrated herewith have been designed to obviate this fault, the whole stream of the oil being so arranged that it is brought into intimate contact with the thermometer, and the stratification of the oil thereby being prevented.
