RECEIVED Re - Friction Controlled Anchor for Epicyclic. From the tests you have made it is quite evident that this is no use unless we can prevent oil getting on it which seems impossible. Mr. Pottinger tells me that the experience with Ferodo lined clutches if oiled give similar results, but when they use bronze and steel plates the phenomenon was consideredly modified, and it is just worth while making a similar test, to the one of hanging the weights on the arms, with alternate plates of steel and bronze.
