COMPARATIVE RIGIDITIES OF CRANKCASE
MATERIAL. X8000 X.3992

The materials for which we should
like you to measure the Young's Modulus of Elasticity are
as follows :-

Grey cast iron.
Hard white cast iron.
Aluminium alloy (ordinary crankcase alloy).
Our new light alloy L-25.
'Y' alloy (cast and forged).
Duralumin (forged).
Aluminium bronze.
Any ordinary bronze.

We presume that you will require machined
test pieces; please let us know whether we can make them
for you, and to what dimensions.
