Extract from By10/H 11.2.21.

X.2565. "R" SERIES MATERIAL.

The following sections have been held up in view of the possibility of the Experimental Dept. wishing to bring in improvements for the various sections on the above series.

a.{Mr Adams} Petrol Tank. X.3888/9.

The question of Side Filler, level indicator, and provision for emergency scheme combined in tank.

b. Dunlop Wheels. X.3725.

Whether we are to go on to type of wheel suitable for straight-sided tyres.

c. Rear Engine Feet. X.4062.

We have not heard anything in regard to the proposal of using drop forgings for the engine feet in place of the steel castings. We have not ordered any steel castings for "R" sereis, and would like to have your comments on the possibilities of the drop forge scheme.

d.{John DeLooze - Company Secretary} Wiring. X.4087.

The real issue here is the question of whether we should use the RR switch, RR switchbox, Junction box and Locked Ignition switch. In connection with this, certain items on the steering column switch and also the switch for the Klaxon Horn as a Unit, are held up.

Of course Standardisation sheets will be required for all of the above items, and if there is no possibility of bringing in the parts referred to, for "R" series we would like to know in order that may release them to the Order Office who certainly will have to have them released in the near future from the point of view of obtaining material for the works
