With reference to your remark on the attached standardisation sheet. It has been proved that the inlet gauze is unnecessary.

There is no inlet gauze used on the Goshawk petrol tank - there is no inlet gauze used on all tanks fitted to cars at Springfield - there will be no inlet gauze on any future design of 40/50 HP. tank.
