EH. COPY. EP{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer}8/F13.11.19. BROKEN VALVE SPRINGS. X.2464 With reference to the Repair Dept's report re. valve springs breaking on chassis 58-NA{Mr Nadin} (New York Trials car), this confirms complaints ~~on chassis~~ I brought to your attention the other day, i.e. that 14-PP car( chassis fitted with covered body) which we are running to and from London testing pistons and battery ignition) also had a broken valve spring, which I left in your hands. I do not know of any other cases we have had of valve springs breaking on this type of car, except this. I notice, however, you had valve springs broken on your test engine, and should be glad if you will let me know what you propose to do about this matter, and whether you think there is a weakness in this respect which requires attention on cars delivered.
