To Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} from DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} X457 DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}2/M23.3.26. LOW SPEED WOBBLES ON 20 HP. X.457 X.5430 X.5420 Replying to your Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}4/LG9.3.26. R.{Sir Henry Royce} has refused to consider several times a device in the steering pivot equivalent to a plate clutch. This is what makes it very difficult for us to take any action. The last solution was the plain bearing at the top in the India axle. If you say that this is not effective, or not permanently effective, the time might be ripe to make a further suggestion on the lines of the plate clutch. We think probably the best thing to do would be to get such a scheme ready, based on your EX.860., and possibly to build it and demonstrate that it is a cure before introducing it to R's notice. We shall be able to give you a scheme in the course of a day or two. DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} | ||
