PEREGRINE 10,000 MILES TEST. Replying to Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}1/E.2.3.33. It is our intention to recall Per.111 from France as soon as it has completed its useful work out there. On the previous Peregrine which was run in France there were serious constructional failures such as fixing of the shock dampers, excessive wear on the transmission shaft, excessive wear of front axle control, and several other items. We are anxious for the car to run in France sufficiently long to make sure that the modifications which have been made have cleared the above troubles. We have got G.W.H. working now on the oil temperature problem, and we have sent out to him a number of parts so that he can make comparative tests and supply us with information. We are working on this problem on the test bsd and we are using the car out there to confirm our results. We are also proposing to send some modified pistons out to Chateauroux which should reduce the oil consumption. Peregrine 111 is also running with Woodhead springs and Rudge Whitworth wheels. The parts such as brakes, front and rear axles, are identical to Bensport, so the information gained on these parts will be valuable. We shall recall Per.111 immediately we consider it has completed all the useful tests. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} | ||
