re Chassis GXO-46 - Grylls

In reply to your Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Pgtl/MJ27.7.31, we think that the best thing which we can do is to send you a copy of our electrician's report, which is as follows:-

1. "The cause of blowing dynamo field fuse on above car was the "dynamo "C" wire having become frayed where same enters the "conduit on n/s of car just below the dashboard, and when car "was on a rough road the vibration caused the insulation to part "and the bare wire then came in contact with the metal conduit. "The installation was tested out on 240 v.{VIENNA} while standing "stationary in Shop, but this would not show any defect. "It was by trying a jury wire that the trouble was located, "and on drawing out wire from conduit the faulty place was "located as above."

2. "Another point noticed was that the control brush insulator "on the dynamo was passing current to earth, but this would only "have caused the dynamo to function improperly, and not to blow "the field fuse."

If there is any further information which you require after reading it and you will be kind enough to let us know what it is, we will endeavour to give it to you.
