With reference to the attached samples of Grey Fibre and Bakelite which you passed to us for machining.

Regarding the Fibre - any machining operation can be performed on this with very good results, but with regard to the Bakelite, this can be machined alright, but owing to the cotton matrix it frays badly, so therefore it is not advisable, if it can be avoided, to carry out any machining.

If it is decided to use it for any part of the car it would be as well to have the parts moulded to shape and obviate any machining.
