To Es. From C.W.H. Hôtel de France, x Châteauroux. We have to-day received your letter Haz/MJ.18/3/30. We have noted that the car has to return after completion of 3.000 miles, for the remaining 1.000 miles to be run in England. We will fit the new exhaust manifold, exhaust down pipe and cylinder with sliding joint as soon as they arrive. We shall be close on the completion of the 3.000 miles before these parts do arrive, as the usual time taken for any material to come through from Derby is one week. The loss of time is through customs, etc., as we receive them within half a day from them arriving at Paris. We shall look forward to trying out the new exhaust manifold and exhaust pipes, as we have had so much trouble with other schemes that it will be a pleasure if we can get one to stay up to the conditions over here.
