| -4- Chassis Details. 1. The weakness of the frame in front, and the small and hard spring movement causes the car to be almost unbearable on bad pave, and the wings, lamps, bonnet and body get rattled very badly, and is the most unpleasant feature on the car. It is also very bad when cornering on a road where there are bad potholes causing the front of the car to sidestep outwards. 2. Petrol consumption is very good - from 18 to 22 according to speed etc. Oil consumption with these pistons (Aerolite) is very good, being over 2000 miles to the gallon. Very little water was put in the radiator. 3. The brakes squeak very badly - standard linings. 4. The petrol pumps supply petrol satisfactorily, at 9,000 feet and when temperature was 95° in the shade. 5. The car handles very much better when there is no weight in the luggage container. 6. P.100 headlamps do not make enough difference to glare when dimmed. 7. Esso or Azur petrol should be used. Some of the others are very bad and pink very badly, even when one third retarded. 8. Although lamps were seldom used very little water had to be added to the accumulators. 9. No electrical troubles. | ||
