Attention: Mr.F.D.Smith.

Dear Sirs,

We have to acknowledge receipt of your letter of the 21st instant and in reply would advise that we regard the 9/16" wear-in allowance of the release lever mechanism as a maximum.

You will appreciate that this movement represents a total friction facing wear of .103" and there is considerable risk of the rivets, which secure the friction facings to the driven plate, scoring the pressure plate and flywheel if this dimension is exceeded. Our suggestion would, therefore, be that the rearward movement of the trunnion should be controlled to the dimension given on our Drawing No. SK.30604/2.

Yours faithfully,
BORG & BECK COMPANY LIMITED,

Ll.Smith

When this clutch comes on production; the adjustment should be arranged so that it can compensate for two lining wear but not more
