The present standard clutch has the same thickness of linings as the Borg & Beck, but we allow 50% more wear on our clutch than is stipulated on the Borg & Beck drawing SK.30604/2. We wrote to ask them if they were agreeable to our increasing the maximum wear adjustment. They replied in the negative and are insistent that we do not exceed the 9/16" trunnion movement given on the drawing because of the danger of the rivets scoring the flywheel and pressure plate. In view of this will you please ensure that it is impossible for more adjustment to be given than will compensate for 9/16" of trunnion movement. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Smth. | ||
