| G.W.Hancock Esq., Hotel de France, Chateauroux(French test region), Indre, FRANCE. From Hs. {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} Hs. {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} 3/MJ.7.9.31. 87941 25-EX. CAR. We have now got to make a decision as regards what points on 25-EX. shall be incorporated in standard production. The proposal is, that we shall adopt right away Diamond engine mounting, radiator with copper tubes, improved shock absorbers, anti-squeaking rear brake shoes, long skirt pistons etc., but we cannot expect to go on for ever testing. We accept the position that we shall never attain perfection but we have got to make a decision and get what improvements we can on to our cars. We therefore suggest that when Hm. {Capt. W. Hallam - Head Repairs} has finished with 25-EX. you return with it. By that time we hope you will have been able to get an impression of the car with the new bits that have been recently fitted and when you are at Derby we can agree on a specification. The point I am concerned about is the fitting of the bonnet. I asked Leslie to write to you but the reply we have received has not been very satisfactory. Whatever arrangements you made with W.W. we have not received any scheme from them, neither do we expect one, so that we have got to decide ourselves what scheme we are going to use for holding the bonnet.
