Hook To Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/IMW.{Ivan M. Waller - Head of Chateauroux} from Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Gry.{Shadwell Grylls} Chateauroux. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Gry.{Shadwell Grylls}5/MH.{M. Huckerby}29.10.38. PROP. SHAFT FAILURE. We knew before you left on 8.B.V. that the maximum angularity of the rear joint was insufficient for max. bump plus top gear torque. We hoped you would not find this out because shafts of greater angularity are not yet available. Please send the broken joint back to Derby in order that we may take up the matter with Hardy Spicer as soon as possible. Please wire us if, in your opinion, the failure is not due to excessive angularity, but is more fatigue failure of the needle bearing. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Gry.{Shadwell Grylls} | ||
