WRAITH & BENTLEY CONNECTING ROD BEARINGS.

Further to the thin section shells in centricast A.C.6. material with shells having flanges for sideways location, which you are producing for trial in the above units, will you please produce bearings and rods as follows for trial.

Section of shells as above, .062" thickness but without flanges at existing width of 1.335-5.

Dowel location in upper half in rod only.

The cap half shell other than nip friction will, in effect, therefore, have endways float.

Rod width increased to 1.335+5 so that location is taken on steel face of rod. This will need chamfer to be clear of .100 radius in crankpins.

The object of this is to try and adhere to strip bearings without flanges as being more suitable for a production job.
