ROAD SPRINGS.

Dear Sirs,

We thank you for your letter of 1st inst., and note that you were interested in the 2. sets of Low Rating 25.h.p. Springs F.61003 (Front) and F.61009 (Rear), which we sent to you for Experimental purposes on 11th October.

The range of stress in these springs was as follows:-

F.61003. (Front)
To the Loaded position - 43.5 Tons per square inch.
" Max. Bump " - 63.0 " " " "

F.61009. (Rear)
To the Loaded position - 34.4 Tons per square inch.
" Max. Bump " - 50.2 " " " "

Figures which are higher than any type or make of Spring so far supplied to you - the nearest approach being the 2. - 17 plate experimental 40/50. h.p. Front springs despatched to you on 9.2.35. to your order No.76760 of 21.1.35 - and in which the deflection for a load of 1200 lbs was 10 inches - range of stress to the Loaded position 43.6 tons per square inch, and to the Max Bump position 61.1. tons per square inch.
