To ROY.{Sir Henry Royce} from Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} 4036 Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}3/LG3. 5. 29. K.S. PETROL GAUGE FOR CHASSIS 17-EX. 4117 We have received a complete installation KS.162.P. which you ordered for us for this car. We find however that the tank unit for KS.162.P. will not fit the tank on 17-EX as this car was equipped with a special tank, only fitted on three chassis. We therefore ask you to order one tank unit to KS.100 A.P. details of which Messrs. Hobson are familiar with. We are sending you the redundant tank unit to KS.162.P. which you can doubtless place in stock as a number of KS.162.P. units are being ordered for standard cars at present, and therefore there should be no difficulty in absorbing it. We attach a letter which we have written to Messrs. Hobson in connection with the tank unit that is required and should be obliged if you would quote the reference of this letter on the order in order to avoid the possibility of confusion.
