14038 Expl: Dept; Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rn{Mr Robinson}2/LG. 3rd. May 1929. Messrs. H.M.Hobson Ltd., 47-55 Acton Vale, London W.3. Dear Sirs, For the attention of Major Searight. We thank you for your letter of the 2nd. inst. We have a spare installation set of KS.162.P. and therefore shall only require a tank unit to suit KS.100 A.P. tank. We are sending you herewith a drg. of F.78040 which may be of assistance to you. We believe our Production people have returned to you a complete installation to KS.162.P. as apparently two were sent under a misunderstanding on the last order. We believe that one reason for the return of this installation was the poor enamelling of the instrument board mask. We have noticed recently that the enamel seems to peel off the face of these instruments very readily. As we appear to be using quite a number of KS.162 installations, we think that this redundant set will probably be required for a car before very long. We should be obliged if you would go into the matter of improving the enamelling of these heads. We appreciate the possibility of wet air lines but think that it is best to guard against any possibility of further trouble by installing a pump unit in this car. We will certainly send a copy of your Correction, Operation and Diagram sheets of the 3-line type of installation with KS.100 A.P. installation when it goes away. We hope that we have made it quite clear that all we require from you for the KS.100 is a tank unit. The official order will follow in due course. contd :- | ||
