Dear Mr. Jones, I am wondering whether your Cornell testing machine can be used to determine the lubricating properties of oils at various temperatures. We are very interested at the moment in determining whether a sample of oil which we have has extreme pressure lubricant properties at a temperature of 130°C. If you can carry out such a test for us, we should be grateful if you could let us know the minimum quantity of oil that would be required. With regard to the car which we have running in France on hypoid gear lubricant, will you let us know what are the normal recommendations either in England or the U.S.A. for the mileage at which the oil should be changed. We hope, of course, that a car can run 10 to 15000 miles without changing the oil. Yours sincerely, | ||
