re Simplified Elevating Mounting 40 m.m.
B.D. Gun.

We have issued in a separate memo. Q.PL.106. which is a project for the simplified elevating mounting of the Oerlikon type.

At the same time we have considered turning the large nut of the mounting by means of a horizontal capstan wheel instead of the bevel wheel and pinion.

On Q.PL.109 (original to Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/HH's. copy) we illustrate the proposal with the gun team in action.

If we ever go to a screw-jack mounting. we are inclined to favour this simple method of operation.

No details are required of the scheme Q.PL.109 which is sent to you for issuing and filing.
