re non elevating Mounting for 40 m.m. Gun Type BD.{Mr Berend}

We are likely to have to design and build a quantity of non elevating mountings for the 40 m.m. gun Type BD.{Mr Berend} for the Navy.

The only ball bearing in the design is Hoffman Deep groove No.XLS.5 size 5" x 7" x 3/4".

We have been asked by Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} to suggest that you get into touch with The Hoffman Manufacturing Co.Ltd. with a view to ascertaining whether a quantity of such bearings are in stock, or if not what delivery can be offered. If this bearing is not available by a suitable date, could they tell us of a similar bearing having a bore of 5" or slightly more which would be obtainable.
