I may say that I had the pleasure of driving a Silver Ghost model (Armoured Car) in 1929 in Palestine & I was very interested in the car throughout especially its capabilities. I would esteem it a favour if you would tell me what the highest speed would be in third gear on that particular model 40-50 H.P Silver Ghost with 30x6 tyres which to the very best of my knowledge were fitted in those days, only on one particular occasion I did 65 m.p.h. in third on a mud flat with my car & of course this is disbelieved by my friend, naturally I can only state what the speedometer read & I really believe it was registering correctly. I would also be pleased if you could tell me the formula for working out road speeds when maximum engine revs and gear ratios are considered with | ||
