W/S. Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} c. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} X4038 BY8/H.{Arthur M. Hanbury - Head Complaints} 11.7.27. APPEARANCE OF CHASSIS. ----------------------- Referring to Sgll/M.{Mr Moon / Mr Moore} 8.7.27. I have used any number of cars with the new petrol gauge on them, as I am expected to run experimental cars at intervals, and I frequently take runs away from home, staying away from home the weekend, with luggage on the grid. I am not at all sure that the Hobson type of gauge will come in as standard, because of its want of reliability. As a kind of side issue or extra gauge, it might be permissible, but so far as my experience goes it does not reliably indicate the exact amount of petrol in the tank. It varies according to whether the car has been standing or running. [Stamp: RECEIVED 13 JUL 1927 HS{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}] BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} By | ||
