Sheet #3 March 13, 1918. The batteries were then used for sixteen starts, the discharge being 140-150 amp. per starts, this rise in the amperage used by starting motor due to the fact that the spark plugs were replaced in motor and the leads shortened from battery to starting motor. Hydrometer readings were then taken of the batteries as follows: BATTERY NO. 1 BATTERY NO.2 BATTERY NO.3 BATTERY NO.4 1250 1360 1350 1275 1250 1360 1350 1270 1250 1370 1375 1260 Twenty four more starts were made on this day, after which the voltage read as follows:- BATTERY NO.1 BATTERY NO.2 BATTERY NO.3 BATTERY NO.4 1.9 1.9 1.9 1.9 1.9 1.9 1.9 1.9 1.8 1.8 1.9 1.9 GRAVITY READINGS 1260 1260 1250 1275 1250 1250 1275 1275 1250 1260 1270 1275 March 14th 1918 Batteries were put on charge at 10 amp discharging 115 amp. per start of 25 seconds duration six times per hour. Twenty three starts were made, voltage readings were taken as follows: BATTERY NO.1 BATTERY NO.2 BATTERY NO.3 BATTERY NO.4 1.9 1.9 2.0 2.0 1.9 1.9 2.0 2.0 1.8 1.9 1.9 1.9+ Twenty-six more starts were made after which the voltage readingss as follows: 2.0 2.0 2.0 2.0 1.9 1.9 1.9 2.0 1.9 1.9 1.8 2.0 March 15th 1918 After even starts were made all four batteries, due to the fact the current became reversed somewhere outside our plant this making it necessary to charge all batteries up fully before resuming the test. March 18th, 1919. Voltage Readings as follows: Battery No.1 Battery No.2 Battery no.3 Battery No.4 2.6 2.6 2.5 2.5 2.7 2.6 2.5 2.5 2.7 2.6 2.4 2.5 | ||
